In October, National Women’s Small Business Month, we celebrate and recognize the achievements of women entrepreneurs including our own Main Digital CEO, Sanam Boroumand.

Sanam has over two decades of valuable experience and has held key leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies and international consulting companies before establishing her own acclaimed firm. Now, her primary focus is to enhance workplace effectiveness, productivity, and happiness through digital transformation.

What were Main Digital’s most significant accomplishments over the past year, and how did you achieve them?

SB: Main Digital was honored to be named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies for the second time in August. We were also recognized as a Virginia Best Place to Work in January. Additionally, we expanded our client base by adding federal agencies to our portfolio, further diversifying our expertise and impact.

These accomplishments are a testament to our commitment to innovation, building a strong team culture, and consistently delivering high-quality digital transformation solutions. We achieved these milestones by staying true to our values, fostering collaboration across the organization, and maintaining a client-first approach that drives impactful results.

What are Main Digital’s biggest opportunities for growth, and how do you plan to capitalize on them?

SB: Our opportunities for growth lie in deepening our relationships with current clients by leveraging the synergies across our core service offerings: Data & Platform, Business Agility, and Experience & Insights. For example, a client may initially engage us to improve their operational efficiency through Business Agility services. As we work together, it becomes clear that their ability to scale is constrained by manual processes. We introduce our Data & Platform services, helping them modernize workflows on their platforms to better support their agility efforts.

Finally, we would introduce our Experience & Insights team to ensure that their end-users not only benefit from the internal improvements but also experience a more intuitive and seamless interface. By aligning these services, we are able to provide a holistic solution that transforms not only their operations, but also their customer experience, positioning them for long-term success.

How do you ensure Main Digital’s values are upheld during periods of growth?

SB: We prioritize upholding our values at every stage of our growth by integrating them into both our hiring and daily practices. During the interview process, we actively seek candidates who align with our value system, ensuring that they not only have the right skills, but also share the principles that guide our company culture. Once a new team member joins, I personally meet with them within their first month to discuss and reinforce these values, making it clear how central they are to everything we do.

Every acknowledgment given within our team is tied to one of our core values, creating a consistent culture of appreciation and alignment across the organization. This process ensures that as we grow, our values remain the foundation of our success.

How do you ensure that the company remains relevant in a constantly evolving market?

SB: We remain relevant by staying ahead of industry trends, actively listening to our clients, and constantly innovating our service offerings. Participation in industry groups like the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) helps us stay connected to the latest developments in the technology sector, allowing us to anticipate shifts in the market. Internally, we conduct regular employee surveys to gather feedback, which helps us stay aligned with both our team’s needs and the broader trends in the workforce.

We also prioritize continuous learning and invest in our employees’ development to ensure that we are always at the cutting edge of innovation. Leveraging our research-driven insights, digital experience expertise, and agile methodologies allows us to adapt quickly and strategically, ensuring that we not only stay relevant, but lead in an ever-changing market.
